Do You Have Tooth Sensitivity?
Which of us do not want eat an ice-cold ice cream, drink something cold or enjoy a hot coffee or tea without having a tooth ache. If enjoying these has turned into a painful experience for you, you may have a tooth sensitivity problem. Well, what could be the reason for this, have you ever though about it?

-tooth decay

-tooth enamel abrasion

-exposure of the tooth root

-abrasioned fillings over time

-broken or fractured teeth

-bruxism (tooth clenching, grinding)

A healthy enamel protects the surface of a healthy tooth. Enamel is the hardest substance in our body, consisting of 97% calcium salts, and makes our teeth resistant to external factors by wrapping our teeth like a layer from the outside.

The root surface of the tooth is covered with a protective tissue called cementum. Cementum has a bony structure and is very thin. Under the enamel and cementum tissues of the tooth, there is a structure called dentin. Dentin structure is channeled and permeable. If the dentin structure of the tooth is damaged and loses its protection feature, hot-cold or acidic foods can be directly transmitted to the nerve tissue of the tooth and a painful sensitivity may experienced in the tooth.

But this sensitivity can be treated. The most important issue in treatment is to be able to diagnose the reason.

So which methods can be used to treat sensitivity?

-fluoride gel application

-sensitivity relievning toothpaste recommendation (including fluoride)

-canal root treatment (definitive treatment of sensitivity in cases where nerve tissue is affected)

You can take precautions by going to regular dentist control to avoid tooth sensitivity. And also by brushing your teeth correctly and paying attention to oral hygiene. If you feel tooth sensitivity, please check with your dentist.
